Can you help The Tribe Youth Group?DONATE

Our Team

Jean, Leader of The Tribe
I am the crazy individual who brought all this together.  A former Guide leader I felt there was a need for youth encouragement and support in the area for all ages. With the help of volunteers, we aim to provide a safe and friendly environment for children to be children. With the help of outside partners, local Councillors and schools we provide rewarding and exciting sessions which help to grow skills and confidence. I enjoy watching the children grow into confident, strong individuals who care about their community. We enjoy fund raising both for the group and local charities and I especially enjoy organising singing sessions and performing to local care homes and at community events.

Lyndsey, Volunteer at The Tribe
I am one of the leaders at The Tribe. I volunteer because I want to help make a difference to children’s lives & help them gain confidence & feel good about themselves. It’s fantastic to see them flourish as we all know what amazing youngsters they are. I want to see The Tribe be a success as there are limited groups in the area to keep our children safe and off the streets.

Sophie, Leader at The Tribe
I am a leader. I did attend guides but when my unit closed down, I jumped at the chance to join Jean in helping to set up this group. We provide a fun and safe place for kids to come along and play games, do arts and crafts and have lots of fun. I love being there for the younger ones and being someone they can trust and come to with any problems or just to sit and chat. My aims are awareness of mental health and anti bullying as these are issues which are close to my heart and affecting kids of all ages. I love doing work within the community and attend local forum groups and meetings to promote our amazing group.

Wendy, Treasurer of The Tribe
I am the groups treasurer and book keeper so look after everything legal and money wise. My daughter is the reason why I became involved with the group, she is a young leader and encouraged me to join this amazing group of young people. Our aim is to provide a safe, fun environment for children to meet, experience and develop new skills as well as preparing them for high school and on wards. It is very rewarding as a volunteer to see what the children get from the sessions and to give them opportunities that they might not normally have access to. I can a bit of the mum of the group and can usually be found in the kitchen or tidying up but I do love getting messy with the kids. I am also the one who can say no (though I never do) when it comes to spending money on activities.
